ABOUT: YouCake creates edible graphic toppers with your personal photos and inscriptions to decorate frosted cake, cookies and cupcakes. For this class, edible graphics include fun images that kids can decorate with edible color markers and cookie decorations.

The goal of this class is to get out of the cold and have fun decorating cookies! Prepare to get messy and take home your very own decorated cookie creations.

EVENT FLYER: Cookie Decorating Workshop Flyer

On December 8, 2011, three local businesses, Bonne Fete Baking, Creative Concepts NYC, and YouCake, that all work out of the Entrepreneur’s Space in Long Island City, will be donating their services and providing food and gifts to support the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Holiday Bash. The Hope Lodge Holiday Bash with program Emcee Diana Williams of WABC-TV is to benefit the programs and services of Hope Lodge NYC Jerome L. Greene Family Center.

Located in midtown Manhattan, Hope Lodge NYC is the House of Hope. The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Jermone  L. Green Family Center offers lodging and support services at no cost for cancer patients receiving outpatient treatments in Manhattan, while away from home.

Every Wednesday owner Pilar de Guzman of Bonne Fete Baking shares her baking and spends her time at Hope Lodge Wednesday Tea  - a social event where Hope Lodge guests spend the afternoon relaxing and connecting while enjoying tea and treats in the large lounge by the warmth of the fire and to the sound of music playing on the grand piano.

For the Holiday Bash, Pilar/Bonne Fete Baking will be joined by her colleagues from Entrepreneur’s Space – Creative Concepts NYC and YouCake to provide a fabulous meal and decorative tasty desserts and cake. Each guest will receive a special gift pack of cookies with edible inspirational images of the Hope Lodge NYC quilt – a powerful healing tool displaying messages and images of hope, love and recovery made by Hope Lodge guests visiting from around the globe.

MoonSoup Party Cake

MoonSoup:  Classes, Boutique and Parties for Kids from Little Babies to Pre-school Tots.

So, one YouCake customer had her son create his own cake and cookie topper! His charge was to draw whatever he liked for his 6^th birthday cake. The cookies would be given out as party favors for friends to take home.

One part inspiration, two parts perspiration— marker, paper, and scanner becomes edible decoration and gifts for his 6^th birthday!

US Navy Cake Topper

We have combined our two passions food and technology to revive the humble photo cake and bring it up to speed with graphic applications of the modern age.

Traditionally, a photo cake is a scan and print done by your bakery. A YouCake is a professional high quality, color calibrated edible print with inscriptions and graphic embellishments included.

A YouCake topper can be shipped to your local in-store bakery to apply to your cake or placed on your own homemade cake, cookies or cupcakes. For a really easy party favor, you can order YouCake personalized ready-to-serve cookies.

YouCake: the Photo Cake Reborn

-Time Frame: Most bakeries and supermarkets need up to week, minimum 2 days to make an edible print. YouCake ships toppers overnight and can be applied to a supermarket cake same day.

-Quality: Edible supplies and printers are often broken or color is not calibrated correctly. Most bakeries do not have a large format printers and toppers are limited to 8 1/2 by 11 inch size. YouCake prints half sheet cake size edible prints and create professional prints.

Ease-of-use: We give plenty of instructions on how to apply toppers. All of our toppers come pre-cut, including the three and two inch circles toppers that are usually difficult to remove from the backing sheet.
